There’s a fine line that separates laughter and pain, comedy and tragedy, humour and hurt but in this new series, SISTERHOOD OF SURREYPUR, they try.

SISTERHOOD OF SURREYPUR is a series consisting of 10 episodes which takes a deep dive into the lives of a group of women who’ve decided the best medicine for their pain and antidote for life’s trouble is laughter – and each other.

This is a wickedly funny and brutally real look at the lives of ordinary everyday women in the suburb of Surrey, Canada, which is affectionately known as “Surreypur” because of its predominantly South Asian population. It pays tribute to the resilience of everyday female heroes who know that true strength is smiling when you want to cry, laughing to hide the pain, and going on no matter what.

Maritama Carlson has signed a Producer agreement with writer/creator Manu Chopra & co-writer Darrell Vickers, to pitch the “Sisterhood of Surreypur” series. The series is represented by literary agent Mitchel Stein, owner of Stein Agency in LA.
